February 15th: The Birth Basics- Birth Plan and Pain Relief and Birth Partner Preparation

from £25.00

You want to feel prepared for birth, but you are short on time and babies (and all their bloody equipment) are expensive… So we’ve created the Birth Basics sessions. This course is practical, supportive, and empowering—designed to leave you feeling prepared, flexible, and confident in your ability to birth and make informed choices.

We have worked really hard to condense so much of what we cover on our full course into engaging 2.5 slots (+ a handbook to take away with you).

On February 15th we will be running two separate sessions:

10AM-12.30PM: Birth Plans and Pain Relief
1.30PM-4PM: Birth Partner Preparation

You are welcome to join one or both. If you join both, there’s a lovely little discount for you…
Just enter ‘FREE8’ to get £8 off at checkout- that’s two sessions for £130!

The cost of your ticket also includes a hot drink and pastry of your choice per person, per session.

Our Birth Plans and Pain Relief session includes:

You’ll learn why birth planning matters, how to advocate for your needs, and how preparation creates calm, confidence, and flexibility during labour.

Comfort & Coping Techniques

Experience a wide range of hands-on coping tools so you can discover what works best for you, including:

  • Massage, counterpressure, birth combs, yuula balls, and TENS

  • Breathing techniques, grounding, and distraction tools

  • Positioning for labour and birth using visuals

  • Sensory comfort using smell, touch, water, and movement

Mindset & Preparation

We explore affirmations, visualisation, and guided meditation to help build a calm, confident birth mindset. You’ll also learn how to spot these techniques in real births through positive birth video examples.

Pain Relief as a Continuum

Rather than ruling options out, we explore pain relief as a continuum—looking at natural and medical choices, their pros and cons, and how to prioritise your preferences with confidence.

Understanding Birth & Creating Your Plan

You’ll gain a clear understanding of the stages of birth then bring everything together by writing your own personalised birth plan.

Our Birth Partner Prep session includes:

By the end of the session, birth partners will know exactly how to show up—calm, informed, and ready to support every step of the way.
We explore how fear can show up for birth partners and how understanding birth hormones can help you stay grounded, supportive, and connected throughout the process.

Your Role in Birth

You’ll discover practical ways to support labour using the UMBRELLA framework, covering:

  • Birth positions and physical support

  • Caring, nurturing, and emotional reassurance

  • Advocacy—how and when to speak up

  • Understanding the practical flow of labour and birth

You’ll also reflect on your own strengths and preferences, helping you support in ways that feel natural to you.

Practical Preparation

We cover essential logistics, including:

  • Preparing for the journey to hospital

  • Timing contractions

  • Advocacy tools using the BRAIN approach and planning for Plan A, B, and C

  • What to pack in the birth bag, including helpful gadgets and comfort items

Creating a Supportive Birth Environment

Learn how to use anchors such as music, photos, playlists, and sensory items to create calm and familiarity during labour.

Beyond Birth

The session also covers postnatal support, including emotional care and feeding support, so partners feel confident after baby arrives.

Fun, Interactive Learning

Expect quizzes and games- not that you’re competitive at all…
