Miscarriage Listening Service

£80.00

This is a safe space to let out your thoughts and feelings after pregnancy loss. This service is currently aimed at losses up to 12 weeks (although these are only guidelines- please get in touch if you would like our help).

Despite the research showing that pregnancy loss is a regular occurrence during many pregnancies, the emotional support we usually receive is basic. Particularly if we don’t have the energy to seek it out for ourselves, or feel like our experience wasn’t quite ‘enough’ to contact a charitable organisation or therapist.

Even our well-meaning friends and family can find it difficult to say or do the right thing.

A barrage of “At least you know you can get pregnant…” or “everything happens for a reason” can cause you to have an emotional landslide.

What we need is to be heard in our rage and jealousy and sadness. We need to be acknowledged in our fear and reassured in our moments of guilt.
We need a space to feel let down by our bodies and ask the question “Why ME?” There might not be discoverable answers, but having your feelings validated is so important when society doesn’t make space for your loss.

During the two hour session, Tasha will prompt you to talk through various aspects of you pregnancy loss and anything you would like to explore relating to you recovery. This is not a medical debrief with hospital notes, although we are able to discuss birth in a medical setting at length. You do not need to carry a medical diagnosis (such as PTSD) to attend; it might be that you just want to decompress after such an emotionally-charged and physically exhausting event.
